Tim with a Sustut SteelheadTim Purvis grew up fishing in the north of England. The first fish he ever caught, at age 10, was an Atlantic salmon, albeit a very small one, a parr that was smaller than the toby spinner that the fish took.

For 14 years, Tim worked arranging custom fly-fishing trips for one of the industry's leading booking agents, sending anglers from Bristol Bay, Alaska to Kamchatka to Iceland (where he found Atlantic Salmon larger than his Red Francis fly) to Tierra del Fuego’s Rio Grande. In 2009, Tim set out to start his own booking agency on the banks of the Sandy River near Portland, Oregon, and chose to focus on one of his most treasured regions, Patagonia—hence the name Andean Anglers. Tim’s firsthand experience with the finest lodges in Chile and Argentina will help him match you to an angling experience you’ll long treasure. When he isn't fishing Oregon’s North Umpqua or some far flung salmon river in Iceland or Russia, Tim enjoys time at home with his family, tying flies and playing guitar.
